Rediscovering Myself: How a European Getaway Filled My Cup and Revived My Business

Hey there, friend!

I've been wanting to sit down and share something truly incredible that happened to me recently. You know how the last few months have been an absolute whirlwind, with my small business demanding my attention from every angle? Yeah, I was knee-deep in that hustle, wearing my creator, admin, marketing, and finance hats all at once. It's been a wild ride, and amidst all the chaos, I found myself in a place I'm sure you're familiar with – that place where you're doing a million things but feel like you're getting nowhere.

I couldn't help but compare my journey to those around me. It seemed like every other business was skyrocketing to success while I was slogging along, trying to keep my ship afloat. Self-doubt crept in like an unwelcome guest, and to top it off, creativity decided to take a vacation, leaving me with a pesky creative block.

So, there I was, spinning my wheels when I decided it was time for a breather. A real one. Do you remember that trip to Europe I'd been dreaming about forever? Well, I finally took the plunge and packed my bags for an adventure of a lifetime.

Guess what happened next?

Europe turned out to be more than just a vacation. It was like hitting the reset button on my soul. Stepping away from the daily grind was a breath of fresh air – figuratively and literally! The bustling streets of old cities, the stunning landscapes, the different cultures – they all conspired to help me disconnect and find my own rhythm again.

And remember when I reached out to Nikki, my mentor, seeking advice on a social media plan among all my other questions? Her response totally blindsided me. She told me I had a creative block and should take a break. Can you believe it? I was initially taken aback, but those words stuck with me. I realised I had been running on an empty cup for far too long.

The European adventure became my creative haven. The charm of the Netherlands, the breath of fresh air in Ireland and Italy’s iconic coloured houses. It felt so liberating to just let go and let creativity guide the way.

But here's the kicker...

So, here's the takeaway, my friend:

It's easy to get caught up in the daily grind and forget that we're human beings, not just business machines. Taking a step back, embracing the unknown, and allowing ourselves to be rejuvenated by new experiences is an investment in our own well-being. The success of our businesses is intrinsically tied to how we're feeling on the inside.

So, if you ever find yourself drowning in tasks and self-doubt, remember my story. Consider giving yourself that much-needed break, that chance to rediscover your passions, and that opportunity to fuel your creativity. Europe might not be your destination, but the journey inward is where the magic truly happens.
